Patients with underbites have many of the same problems such as a protruding lower jaw that looks larger than reality, compromised facial profiles and some have TMJ disorders, including a locking jaw and joint pain.
Examples such as clenching, grinding, jaw clicking and popping are typical for TMJ problems that cause the patient to be physically compromised. The jaw and the bite are not in functional harmony because the jaw is not in the ideal position. JawTrac® can locate the best position for the lower jaw without surgery in just a matter of one day with many of the symptoms reduced. These patients live better and feel better with a normally functioning jaw that for the first time in the patient’s life.
Sometimes patients have “crippling pain” from a Class 3 Under Bite that can reduce their physical activities. TMJ pain is usually due to the bite and the jaw joints functioning without harmony or synchronization. Locating the best jaw position using JawTrac® and building the new bite to synchronize the TMJ with the patient’s new jaw position are done with the “no tooth drilling” VENLAY® Restorations which relieve muscle spasms, TMJ Problems and also correct cross bites. These patients can experience comfort for the first time in their lives.
If this method sounds too good to be true, watch a patient describe his treatment which took less than a month. Most of that time was used for Dr. Muslin to make the VENLAY® Restorations which changed his life.
Cosmetic dentistry cannot solve the protrusive lower jaw problem because porcelain veneers on the upper teeth are nothing more than cosmetic camouflage. Veneers cannot correct underbites, overbites or bad bites because they are cosmetic dentistry. Dentists that claim they are “fixing” the underbite are not improving the patients jaw position; they are not correcting the underbite or improving the facial profile.
When a patient has a class III protrusive lower jaw they can also suffer from low self-esteem. They cannot smile naturally and try to hide their appearance with their hands or they smile with their lips together. This patient said in his video testimonial: “Dr. Muslin will teach you how to smile.” His self-esteem improved immediately after bonding the VENLAY® Restorations.
Patients cannot smile with confidence when their profile has a Class III jaw. They cannot feel confident with speaking because under bite patients must use their tongue to pronounce the “S” and “TH” sounds. Everyday is another day of compromise that can be reversed in less than a month.
Today under bite correction has a non-surgical alternative treatment that improves the health of the patient. The treatment involves the position of the lower jaw that is compromised with the patient’s existing bite. Their new bite establishes the jaw position that the patient should have always had.
