When you see an actor smile, almost invariably, their smile is toothy and white. Psychologists have proven time and again that we tend to trust people with a big white smile, not only that most people want it just because it is one less thing to be self-conscious about. But did you know whiter teeth can lead to getting a job?
It turns out Loyola Marymount University did a study in 2007 that proved a few shocking things about having a white smile. They simulated a few scenarios and the results were interesting- those who went to a job interview, for example, with their teeth whitened had a bit of an edge over the competition. They got the job 58% of the time where their non-whitened others got it 42% of the time.
Remember that though whitening over the counter is available it is not typically the best way t do it. Many toothpastes and strips contain chemicals that are way too harsh, so remember to go to your dentist for the safest, fastest, and most effective whitening.
