Can Veneers fix Buck Teeth?
Dr. Sam Muslin answers: In some situations porcelain veneers can fix buck teeth but there will be some teeth grinding necessary. The reason is that if a porcelain veneer were placed on a buck tooth, the problem would be worse.
In order to move the buck tooth back, a lot of the front of the tooth will need to be ground down. Additionally, sometimes the buck teeth can be treated with porcelain crowns much better than with porcelain veneers. More natural tooth structure will be lost but the patient will get the buck teeth moved further back and a better bite with porcelain crowns in some circumstances.
Buck teeth can also be treated with braces and with retainers and with invisalign retainers. There are many choices available but the key to the best treatment for buck teeth is to find a dentist than fully understands all of your choices and can explain them to you so you can understand them. Once your choices are clearly explained, you can make the right decision for you.
