Traditional Braces or Instant Braces
Jerome’s major issue to him was the spaces between his teeth. In his before photo, you can see them in his upper arch (the term for where the upper teeth reside). In addition to the gaps between his teeth, Jerome had the following:
- Teeth that had rotated
- The edges on his teeth appeared uneven
- The edges also were gray and translucent
- The teeth had a drab yellow color
There were two likely treatments for Jerome’s teeth. One was braces and the other was porcelain veneers.
Traditional braces could have been selected. However, in Jerome’s case, they would have squeezed his teeth together. The problem with that was that the size of his upper arch happened to be large. If his upper teeth were bunched together, the shape of the arch would have been too narrow for his lower teeth.
Also, braces would take awhile to work- maybe as long as two years! Finally, braces would not have treated the cosmetic issues that Jerome was seeking to resolve. That included the uneven look of his teeth, the drab, yellow color and the gray color that had formed around the edges of some teeth.
Dr. Sam Muslin- Cosmetic Dentist
So, instead of an orthodontist, Jerome decided to visit a cosmetic dentist. He selected Dr. Sam Muslin, DDS, MAGD. Dr. Muslin, a prominent LA area cosmetic dentist, took a close look at Jerome’s situation. He felt that in order to secure the function of Jerome’s jaw alignment and provide the cosmetic result Jerome was looking for, that instant braces were the answer.
Instant braces are porcelain veneers that would immediately resolve all of Jerome’s issues including his dental health. In his case, the upper and lower arch had to maintain a fully balanced ability to chew. This is why instant braces were used.
The no-grinding non-invasive process of applying veneers to the teeth, ensure a pain free process. Plus, the strength of the bonding causes the veneer to actually become part of the tooth structure. No cavities can take hold underneath the bond. They do not stain and porcelain veneers can last up to 20 years and more.
Not to forget, that Jerome would never have to wear retainers or wait months or even years for results.
Jerome was so pleased with the work, he urged his mother to also come and see the best cosmetic dentist in LA, Dr. Sam Muslin!
