Last month the British Dental Health Foundation urged dental professionals and the public to wear blue lips and post silly photos of themselves online. Why? To spread awareness of mouth cancer as part of Mouth Cancer Awareness Month, of course!
With more deaths from mouth cancer happening every year, the campaign hopes to shed some light on the issue. Be aware of mouth changes – ulcers that don’t heal within three weeks, lumps/swelling, and red and white patches – and seek medical treatment if concerned.
If you’d like to join the cause, consider taking a blue lip selfie and upload it to your social media!
