The American Dental Association has recently negotiated an agreement with the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation that allows members to show movies and other audiovisual entertainment in both waiting and exam rooms. It’s about time!
Magazines are great, the radio is fine, but the ability to watch movies during dental exams is a truly wonderful idea. It’s a way to get a person’s mind off the unpleasantness that comes with dentist visits, reducing patient anxiety.
Dental offices associated with the ADA will be able to show movies, children’s programs, and documentaries in accordance with copyright laws.
My next visit I’m going to request How to Train Your Dragon because dental puns are fun. (For those who haven’t seen it, the dragon’s name is Toothless.)
