How many times have you tried to get your kid to the dentist only for it to be a struggle- an uphill battle- maybe even a world war. Believe it or not there are ways to get your kids more comfortable with not just the dentist, but even brushing their teeth.
As with many things, one of the keys to teaching kids how to take care of their teeth is modeling. That means they will often do what you do the way you do it. For example, turning teeth-brushing time into a game may not work by itself, but by being enthusiastic about and making it seem like you love brushing and flossing, you might just get your kid to change their mind.
This works the same way with the dentist. Yes, you may hate the dentist, but don’t say that. Be happy about it. Pretend the dentist is your friend, and maybe even become friendly with your dentist. It will make the visit easier for everyone involved. And as important as it is for you to be there when your child is in the chair, it’s equally important for them to absent when you have a painful procedure. Them watching you get a root canal, for example, will cause problems. Check out more tips below-
