A community in England recently held an open forum to debate the merits of fluoridating their water supply. 70% of American communities have fluoridated water, but in recent years these debates have been cropping up all over the place do to the fact that many perceive it to be unnecessary and potentially harmful.
The arguments on both sides of this increasingly global debate have valid points. While many of the against arguments are based on pseudo-science and misrepresented facts, there is one argument that rings true- especially in America. The chemical is put in water supplies often without the people’s consent. Because of this there are a ridiculous number of conspiracies surrounding fluoride.
The problem is, fluoride is really good for us. It was entirely natural in the ground water we all used to drink, and the lack of it can cause tooth weakness. This has been proven time and time again- and the elderly and young are the ones at real risk for serious problems without it.
What side do you take? Are you pro-fluoride? Or against?
