What a difference two teeth can make! This patient had two teeth that were way out of line with the rest of his smile and a few teeth with slightly irregular shapes. He was also showing signs of wear caused by clenching and grinding. Grinding, also called bruxism, can evolve into TMJ pain, headaches, migraines, and more.

Teeth Grinding Damage

The damage caused by grinding can be amplified when a patient is not hitting both sides of his mouth evenly. This patient was experiencing an uneven bite and since it was caught at an early stage it was easy to re-balance. Treating an uneven bite at a later stage can require more extensive work so early detection is key. To prevent an uneven bite from progressing or from ever even occurring, wearing a very thin custom designed nightguard created by Dr. Muslin is the answer.

When just two teeth are not in line, and therefore not following the same subtle arc of the rest of the teeth, they can really affect the balance of your face. Dr. Muslin showed this patient that just two veneers could transform how he felt about himself by giving him a much more refined look. He also explained that the entire treatment would be non-invasive dentistry. There would be absolutely no shots, no discomfort and no grinding of his natural teeth whatsoever. The result would be a totally natural smile instantly.

Matching Porcelain Color to Natural Teeth

One of the biggest challenges, which very few dentists can do successfully, is matching the porcelain to the adjacent natural tooth enamel. Dr. Muslin works closely with his Ceramist to design the perfect color, translucency, surface texture, and shape so that the two restorations look exactly the same as the rest of the teeth. If even one of these design elements is not carefully considered then the entire veneer will look fake. Most dentists do not work with their lab during the porcelain preparation process and this is where quality is compromised.

As a patient of Dr. Muslin you can rest assured that he is leading the development of your restorations every step of the way for an amazing final result.

After careful consideration the patient decided to move forward with what Dr. Muslin had described. His treatment began by whitening with an at home custom designed series of whiteners. After which some very minor bonding to a few of the irregular teeth, and two porcelain veneers were completed. What an amazing difference just two veneers can make!

He also wears his nightguard every night to protect his bite and his teeth!
