Dentures are made to replace all of your teeth. They have a tendency to slip and slide more as you get older because over the years you lose your jaw bone. Most people lose their bone because the wear the same old dentures too long. They should be relined or remade at least every 5 years. To hold down the loose dentures many people buy "PolyGrip", "Fixodent" and "Sea Bond", among other denture adhesives.


Implants

Implants have made loose dentures a thing of the past. The denture can attach to the implants like the snap on your shirt. Your denture will fit tight, stay in place better and you will be able to chew your food much more efficiently.

Pain

Loose dentures are painful because the slide around. You bite on one side and the other side pops up. The gums can be so thin that it hurts to bite down hard. Implants improve this situation markedly. In fact, some people can have a set of teeth that replace the denture.

Chewing Power

The bite or occlusion needs to be correct because the implants will firm up the denture so much that without a great bite, teeth will break off or you will loose the implant.
